Beginning of February

Lots of things were going on all over the world in February 1924, but I think the main things that have stuck with Americans through the years are these:

• Woodrow Wilson fell into a coma and died the next day.
• Howard Carter and his team removed the lid of King Tut's sarcophagus and found the solid gold case that held his mummified body.
• The treason trial for Hitler and other Nazis' participation in the Beer Hall Putsch began.

Feb 1: Beautiful sunshiny day after fog raised this morning. Washed very large washing. Am very tired and kiddies are cross. Bed for me - soon. Dad home early. Expecting gang.

Feb 2: Chilly damp day. Clouds prevented ground hog seeing his shadow. Ironed and dried clothes most all day. Took ride and saw Charlie's new home. Little game.
